Eyelashes seem to have been the newest trend in the make up world for a while now. Not to say that having your eyebrows on "fleek" has gone away, but who doesn't want a fluffy pair of eyelashes? I would say that my lashes are about average and I have never been a complainer of them, but I would have loved a little bit more. My lashes are very light in color, so I absolutely need mascara or else it will look like I don't have any. This has always been my problem, but I was never able to find a drugstore mascara that did the job for me the way I wanted it too. A few years ago, when eyelash extensions became a hit, I started noticing how much they could amplify your make up look without doing much else to your face. I began my hunt to be able to find a product that would work for me and not cost me an arm and a leg.
Now believe me when I say that I looked and researched nearly every product out there. I would find a new company/brand and immediately be turned away because of the price. Then I looked around at eyelash extensions. On top of the price and upkeep that they required, I knew that they weren't the best option for me either.
It wasn't until my birthday a couple of months ago that I found a game changer when I was least expecting it. My mom surprised me with the mascara from Thrive Cosmetics. To be completely honest, I really didn't know of the company, but I had previously seen a lot of promotions on Facebook and Instagram.

I have to admit that I did not have the highest expectations for the product since I did not know anything about it, but once I started wearing the product, I could not turn back. If you are reading this post right now and are wanting the lashes of your dreams, like I was, then please do yourself a favor and keep reading.
My first impression of the wand was that it reminded me of the Loreal Telescopic mascara wand. I LOOOOOOVE that mascara because it does a wonderful job of lengthening and separating my lashes, but I hate that no matter how much I apply, the mascara does not thicken them up. But...that's okay because Thrive mascara can do both for you! The company states that the mascara contains "orchid stem cell complex" to stimulate and encourage lash growth. When applying each coat I can definitely see the fibers in the mascara grabbing onto each other and building up, which therefore; gives you the long and thick lashes of your dreams!

THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP: Apply one complete coat on your lashes. Then move to the next eye and add a complete coat. Then go back and forth between each eye until you receive your desired look. The wait time in between each coat will allow the mascara to semi dry (allowing the mascara to be buildable).
I have now been wearing the mascara for 2 months and have a well thought out opinion to share with you!
Pros
lengthens and separates your lashes quite well
layers on without clumping
skinny wand keeps from clumping and making a mess on your lids
does not flake or smear with wear
lash curler holds a curl if curled prior to application
does not smear when crying! (seriously...just don't wipe your eyes)
can auto ship to you every month
I'm on month 2 of applying about 6 days a week and still have a month left in the tube
considerably cheaper than other lash serums/lash extensions
Cons
when taking off the mascara, the mascara flakes off into your bath water, which is quite different than any mascara I have ever used before
costs $24 dollars to purchase the mascara and $39 for the starter kit
the lash curler is not anything spectacular...just a regular one will do the job
can't pick up at store...have to order ahead of time

Overall, my opinion of the mascara is a great one. I have went back to my previous mascaras since trying Thrive mascara and am deeply disappointed every time. Some might say that $24 dollars is too pricey for mascara, but I hope that you will see the same benefit of the mascara over time and with each application. If you are wanting to give your lashes a lift but don't want to spend a fortune on serums/extensions, then consider trying Thrive mascara! I am hopeful that you will see similar results. Comment below and let me know what your experience is with the product. :)
