I know you're already thinking it..instant pot spaghetti?!?!?! When I mentioned the meal to my husband he started shaking his head. He assumed that IP spaghetti was something like throwing in your meat, sauce, and noodles in to a crockpot and letting it cook all day.

Well, he was right. That does NOT sound appetizing! However, this recipe is nothing like that! Let me reassure you and erase all of your doubts. Instant pot spaghetti will become your new favorite way to make spaghetti if you are always busy like my family is. Here's why: you will only have one pot to clean when it is finished. Promise! Stay tuned to the end and see for yourself. Here we go!

Total meal cost: $5.32

Ingredients: lean ground beef/turkey, 24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce, 1 lb of spaghetti noodles

1. Turn your instant pot on "Saute." Throw in a dash of olive oil and throw in your ground beef/turkey. Begin cooking your meat like you normally would in a pan on the stove. A lot of people are unaware that your IP has this function. You can cook anything in your IP on "saute" that you normally would on your stove top. A great tip is to buy lean meat so that there is not any/much grease when cooking your meat. If you choose a meat with more fat, then take your pot with mittens and strain the meat like usual. Dump your meat back in afterwards.

2. Push cancel and then the “manual ” button. Set on high pressure for 8 minutes.

3. Poor in your 24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce. Once poured, fill your jar with water and add into the pot. Fill up the jar halfway filled with water and pour into pot once more and stir.

4. Now take your spaghetti noodles and break them in half and lay in your pot. Take your utensil and stir around in liquid. If you do not stir them around, they will cook together in a lump. This can also happen if there is not enough liquid in the pot, so don't be afraid to have liquid.

Make sure to stir them! Don't leave them on top like this.

5. Take your lid and secure on top. Place the valve to "sealing".

6. When the IP is done cooking and says L0:00. Carefully flip the valve over to "venting". PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS. The steam is very hot and will burn you if you are not careful. I like to use the end of a utensil to flip the valve so my fingers do not get burned by the steam.

7. Once the steam has finished releasing, turn and take off your lid. There will be a layer of liquid on the top, but don't worry, you just need to stir everything together.

Now that wasn't that bad...was it?? I hope you enjoy your IP spaghetti and let all of your friends know how easy and wonderful it was. By the way...I was right huh? You only have to clean one pot! That's the best part of it all. To be completely honest, mostly all IP recipes only require you to clean just the pot itself. That is why they make cooking so convenient for busy moms like me. ;) If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below.
